2010 Pre-Requisite
Pre-Requisite

In readiness for the release of our impending LabTech MSP V2010 edition you will need to ensure ALL your clients are all up to .Net V2.0, LabTech Software LLC has developed a tool to perform this action for you.

If you would like to install Version 2010 and you are upgrading from V2.5i then please download the tool from Link

Once downloaded you can expand the tool and run it, further instructions on using this tool are available on our wiki at Link

The main download will be made available on Friday 28th May 2010 at 5.30PM Eastern Standard Time from Link

LabTech 2.5i is officially released
Well LabTech’s little elves have been very busy to bringing you our most powerful and stable release of the LabTech System to date, a present from us just in time for the holidays! In this release we have made over 100 Major Program Enhancements, added more than 30 New Features and a great number of Bug Fixes. Be sure to check out the Sticky in the forum which details every major change we have made. The majority or the changes included in this release have been made to increase stability, usability and speed. It does not stop there though; we are already busy coding and adding more features for the next release. Below is a highlight on a couple of the Major enhancements in this release:

Windows Patch Deployment
We have completely rewritten the Patch deployment and now fully utilize and control the Windows update mechanism in place of our own, we now include all available Patches for all the Microsoft products listed on the Windows Update Site. We have categorised all these updates as in order of importance for ease of deployment, we also include all optional updates like Windows Drivers and Programs.
We have also added new scripts to install all Critical Updates without prior approval to ensure key Servers/Workstations can be managed better. Patch reporting has also been updated to reflect these changes. It does not stop there though please refer to the changes.log in the LabTech folder on the LT Server or check out the Sticky in the forum for a full list of changes.

New Windows Mobile Application
Our all new powerful mobile application, allows you to work with all your client data, run scripts and send reports straight from your cell phone. We have also increase the Ticketing and Timer functions as well as a much improved user interface.

The LabTech team would like to thank all our Beta Testers and anyone who has reported bugs/improvement ideas, we would also like to give recognition to the Development Team for doing such a great job on this release.
Also we would like to give a BIG thank you to all our customers who have joined us in 2009 and we hope 2010 is a prosperous year for all of us, we are really excited with the amount of positive interest and feedback we are currently receiving and we will continue to listen.

LabTech 2.5G is officially released
The LabTech System has been updated to be the most stable, secure and powerful platform ever. The Key Features of this release are Setup and Upgrade Enhancements, Improved Remote Agent, AuthAnvil Support for both the Control Center and the Web Control Center, enhanced export with excel formats and improved international support with UTF8 Database conversion. Also there are many new items like 25 additional monitors and 15 more searches. Reports have been added to the system like Network Assessment, Eventlog Errors, High CPU, and Antivirus Status plus 4 more. Virus scanner definitions have been updated and Avast 4.0 Server, Avira Pro, WebRoot Spysweeper have been added.

Setup and Upgrade Enhancements
The Labtech Server setup has been completely rewritten and is much easier. All Monitors, Scripts and other settings can be individually chosen to import or update when you are upgrading. New Server install types are available like a Slave server install to improve read performance to the control center.

Improved Remote Agent
Remote agent has many fixes and several new features such as the ability for the customer to send a Screen shot with the support request and Virus Scanner auto protect detection uses WMI to verify the protection is enabled. The Agents Monitor engine has been completely rewritten to be multi threaded and handle 100's of monitors per agent.
The Remote Agent has improved support for framework 2.0, 64bit Windows, Vista, 2008 and Windows 7. Mac support has been improved and VNC capability is much better and a Windows Mobile Agent has been written to run on a PDA or Smartphone.

LabTech 2.5 F is officially released
LabTech has innovated IT automation again with the release of 2.5F. Key enhancements included in 2.5F are the Plug-in Framework, Reporting Enhancements, the Report Manager, Enhanced Script Stats and Ticket Escalation Monitors.

Plug-In Framework - The biggest improvement in LabTech 2.5F is the Plug-in Framework. The Plug-in framework not only allows LabTech to rapidly develop interfaces to PSA, CRM, Antivirus, Backup and any other logical software partner, it also allows other software companies or partners to add very powerful integration to LabTech. We are in late stage beta testing of 2-way integration into CommitCRM, AutoTask, Connectwise, Microsoft CRM, and Tigerpaw. The plug-in framework will allow LabTech to continue our rapid development as our user base continues to grow.

Reporting Enhancements - The Executive Summary report was improved to allow partners to deliver a branded summary report to their clients. The Executive Summary uses the enhanced script stats that track how many times automated actions are performed. Script Stats were also added to the history screen. The Server Health report was added and many of the report charts were made more readable. Additionally, we added the Report Manager under the tools menu that allows partners to customize search parameters, sorting, and easily email reports.

Ticket Escalation Monitors – The ticket escalation can now be used to implement service level agreements at the group level. The escalation monitors can alert and call scripts to update the tickets to the next escalation point.
